Beginner Riding Lessons -
Christy Fischer (316) 655-9108
Hello! I would like to introduce myself
as Grandview’s new beginning rider lesson instructor. I’m very excited to be here and look forward to meeting
lots of new people. My name is Christy Fischer and I have been involved with horses in one fashion or another for
over 15 years. I taught lessons, guided trail rides, and served as a summer camp counselor for another local stable
for about eight years. There, I taught both English and Western lessons. I also showed Paint horses in Paint Horse
shows, 4-H shows, and in South Central Stock Horse Association shows during my youth. My favorite class was
Showmanship. I LOVED showing and gained a lot from my experiences.
I also was a member of the state horse
quiz bowl and Hippology (the study of horses) teams for several years. My college was even partially paid for
because of some horse-related scholarships! I’m currently employed full time as a law enforcement officer and a
large part of my job is investigating animal cruelty cases. My husband, Scott and I currently own a Paint gelding,
Davis and a Belgian gelding, Indy. Scott and I love to trail ride and frequently take our horses camping. I also
volunteer for the local horse rescue and sanctuary, Hope in the
Valley.
I will always strive to make my lessons
very interactive and I believe that it’s important to teach not only how to ride but also how to groom, saddle, and
care for horses so that the lesson experience can be as complete as possible. I hope to hold many clinics in the
future that can help students learn and practice these skills. I LOVE questions! There is no such thing as a dumb
question and questions can always help an instructor tailor the lesson to what the student might be struggling with
or might be interested in learning more about.
I am very much looking forward to
meeting everyone and welcome anyone to call me with questions at (316) 655-9108. Thanks! I’m very
excited to be part of the Grandview family!!
